In mobility, it’s not enough to create a lamp that shines. You need to design lighting that works, tells the story of the vehicle, and responds to real-world operating conditions. At OEI_DesignLab, we blend imagination with engineering, combining user needs with homologation and production realities. Our headlamps power city buses, rescue vehicles, supercars, and heavy-duty machines. But every one of them starts the same way: with a conversation.
Stage 1: Brief & Context Understanding
Lighting design begins by asking the right questions:
- Where and how does the vehicle operate?
- What are the environmental, functional, and aesthetic conditions?
- What role should the light play – functional, emotional, or identity-driven?
From Scandinavian cityscapes to desert roads – we design for a specific world, not in a vacuum.

Stage 2: Concept & Design
We develop a range of concepts using:
- sketches and renderings,
- preliminary optics and beam simulations,
- a design language aligned with the vehicle brand.
At this point, the client sees how light can tell their brand story. Often, this is where key decisions about product character are made.

Stage 3: Engineering & Prototyping
Once the design direction is approved, we move into execution:
- Selecting LEDs and optical layouts.
- Designing the mechanical structure.
- Integrating with ADAS, CAN, EBS and other systems.
- Optimizing for cost and production.
With our in-house tools and modular platforms, we build prototypes quickly and test them internally – with no delays or external dependencies.

Stage 4 and 5: Validation & Production Readiness
A headlamp must do more than look good on paper. That’s why we run full validation testing:
- Photometry & EMC
- Mechanical durability
• Environmental resistance (heat, cold, humidity)
We deliver complete documentation: 3D CAD files, BOM, mounting instructions, and hands-on support during production ramp-up. We’re with our clients until the last click on the assembly line.

Why OEI_DesignLab?
- One integrated team – from sketch to test.
- Modular technology = faster, smarter execution.
- Proven in low and mid-volume production (10–1000 units/year).
- Focused on delivery, not just design portfolios.
A headlamp is not a detail. It’s a strategic design decision – about function, form, and identity. At OEI_DesignLab, we believe lighting is a project – one that must perform and communicate. That’s why we don’t just offer concepts. We deliver ready-to-implement products.
