 1. The Brief and Customer Needs

It all starts with one question: What kind of light does this vehicle need?
Whether it’s a city bus, camper, tram or special-purpose vehicle – each has unique requirements. We consider:

  •  Body shape and design,

  •  Type of use (urban, nighttime, off-road),

  • Homologation standards (ECE R112, R7, etc.),

  • Aesthetic and functional OEM preferences.

 

2. Concept and Design

Our OEI_DesignLab team creates initial sketches, 3D models and lighting simulations. At this stage we define:

  • LED layout,

  • Optics and lens design,

  • Beams, signature DRLs, position lights,

  • Custom branding for OEM or city identity.

 

3. Engineering and Prototyping

Once the design is approved, we focus on construction and performance:

  • Platform selection (e.g. BI_LED Next Horizon),

  • Prototyping tools and validation,

  • Thermal, lighting, EMC, IP, and EBS/ADAS readiness testing,

  • Small-series production.

 

4. Small-Batch Production & Logistics

We specialize in 10–1000 unit runs – perfect for niche mobility.
