You can work in automotive, you can like it, but there are also those who love it. I am undoubtedly in the last group!
I develop and produce lighting systems for public transportation and e-mobility every day, but my interests go much further. I am fascinated by the entire automotive industry, from the production of components, to the design, production and sales of cars, to the exciting world of motorsport.
In the racing world, it is the cars, the spare parts and the competitors and mechanics that go through the toughest trials, and I love challenges, both in and out of business.
In my youth, I was a member of a technical racing team and also experienced the “taste” of a racing pilot, which allowed me to get to know this environment closely.
Although I stopped participating professionally in motorsport many years ago, it still evokes great excitement in me.
I want to share my excitement, because thanks to the long-standing cooperation with the Delphi Technology company, I was invited for a co-drive with Kajetan Kajetanowicz, the current WRC 2 Challenger World Champion. The Delphi company is one of the sponsors of his team. It was an unforgettable emotion, and the experience was priceless. Thank you!
During the visit, I had the opportunity not only to drive, but also to analyze the car's settings, and to attend to the changes in the chassis systems and differentials, and to observe how the various components behave after each drive.
Talking and exchanging insights with the sports team's engineers was the real icing on the cake. The engineering and technical community is an extremely important ecosystem for us, as it also provides a testing ground for our lighting systems in real-world conditions, outside of laboratory testing.
